Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to accelerate Rust in production across Google Cloud infrastructure. You will work on Rust-C++ interop, platform and library development, and contribute to AI tooling as part of the Infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Work on Rust Acceleration in Production - Infrastructure Team alongside the broader Core Rust team, and partner to prioritize dependencies and library migrations.
• Align with owning parties, ensure their participation in rewrite design and ownership.
• Design the optimal end state of a Rust implementation of the dependency for low-level systems software.
• Design and execute on the migration path based on customers' needs and safe rollout constraints.
