Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a skilled technician in Irving, Texas to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of trucks and engines. The role involves diagnosing issues, overhauling engines, installing components, and verifying repairs to meet OEM specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability.
• CDL and Medical card preferred but not required.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/or ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, and bearings, mix components, and replace transmissions.
• Read job orders and plan work procedures.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are in good condition.
• Test and verify repaired vehicles meet specifications.
• Attend training and stay updated with factory bulletins.
• Develop positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
