Job summary

A local government entity is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator responsible for maintaining county facilities, roads, and rights-of-way. You'll operate and support heavy equipment for infrastructure projects while ensuring service quality to the community. Ideal candidates have 2 to 5 years of experience, a valid South Carolina Class A CDL, and a commitment to safety and community service. Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation or relevant apprenticeship/internship.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Valid South Carolina Class A CDL with air brakes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment for infrastructure projects.
• Perform maintenance tasks on county facilities and roads.
• Provide technical support using small engines and tools.
• Plan and adapt maintenance duties effectively.
• Deliver quality service to the public.

Skills

Experience with heavy equipment duties

Proficiency in basic mathematics

Ability to read and write technical instructions

Familiarity with landscaping and maintenance
