Job summary

Tohono O’odham Nation seeks a physician to provide comprehensive medical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings within TONHC sites. The physician will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to clinical standards and tribal regulations.

The role requires strong collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, ongoing education, and flexibility to work across TONHC facilities including Sells Hospital and health centers.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy, US/Canada-eligible.
• Internship completed and licensed to practice medicine.
• 1–2 years of professional experience beyond internship or 3–4 years of residency.

Responsibilities

• Performs ambulatory and inpatient care; provides emergency department coverage as needed.
• Interviews, examines patients, and orders/ interprets tests.
• Directs treatment plans and coordinates referrals as necessary.
• Maintains medical records and communicates with patients and families.
• Complies with clinical guidelines, policies, and quality improvement programs.
