Job summary

Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH is seeking a full-time General Surgeon to join a part-time surgeon, physician associate, and per diem team. The role covers the broad scope of rural community surgery with open, laparoscopic, and endoscopic procedures, including initial consultations and coordination with primary care physicians.

Must hold NH medical licensure, ABMS board certification in General Surgery, and DEA/prescriptive privileges.

Qualifications

• Active Medical License to practice Surgery in New Hampshire.
• Board certification by the American Board of Surgery.
• Prescriptive privileges and DEA number required.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, decision making and communication skills.
• Strong manual dexterity and visuospatial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide office-based general surgery services to patients of all ages.
• Perform minor procedures and endoscopic procedures as needed.
• Provide initial consultations for common general surgery concerns.
• Order diagnostic tests and refer to related specialties.
• Coordinate with PCPs and other care teams; communicate patient status.
• Clinical support provided by a medical assistant.
