Perseid seeks an enthusiastic Server Assistant/F&B Runner to join team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about celebrating creativity and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

At the center of the Montrose district sits Hotel Saint Augustine, located across from the Menil Collection campus near the Menil Drawing Institute. The Server Assistant/F&B Runner

is responsible primarily for assisting the Server in serving the guest. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight. This is a fast-paced position with continual customer contact.

Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to dress code policies during shift


• Perform serving, cleaning, and stocking duties in order to facilitate customer service


• Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary


• Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays


• Ensure sure that beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, serving areas are stocked


• Replenish supplies of food and equipment at service bars/satellite service stations


• Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer, and replace empty beer keg


• Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies


• Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning


• Clean tables, counters, shelves, walls, furniture, and equipment in food service areas and other areas of restaurants, and mop and vacuum floors


• Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars


• Clean up spilled food, drink and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash


• Serve ice water, coffee, and standard appetizers (i.e. bread/butter or chips/salsa) to patrons


• Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met


• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area


• Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition


• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property


• Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements


• Attend relevant meetings


• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed.Furthermore, employee responsibilities andjobdescriptionsare subject to review and revision.
