Job summary

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is seeking a friendly Runner to support theater guests by delivering food and beverages, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring a clean, distraction-free environment. Ideal candidates have hospitality or guest-service experience, knowledge of basic food safety, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and enforces all safety standards.

Position Summary

Alamo Runners will have the pleasure of supporting our theater guests by focusing on food and beverage service. Core responsibilities include maintaining the highest level of Alamo’s awesome hospitality and safety standards so our guests can enjoy a safe, clean, distraction-free, and enjoyable environment.

Core Role Responsibilities

• Maintains and supports all company safety standards
• Conducts quality food checks and delivers food/beverage orders to the correct seats consistent with venue theater floor maps
• Knowledgeable of the Alamo menu and common allergens; takes necessary safety precautions as needed
• Responsible for safe alcohol service, including checking IDs on drink delivery and monitoring guest consumption, following local and state regulations
• Checks guest tickets to ensure they are in the correct seat
• Maintains a cheerful, courteous disposition with guests and teammates, and communicates efficiently with Production staff, Greeters, Managers, and guests
• Anticipates guest needs and monitors notifications for guest requests
• Focuses on supporting guests as needed, while limiting disruptions
• Responsible for theater, lobby, and restroom cleaning, as well as opening and closing duties as assigned, to maintain cleanliness standards across all high-touch areas
• Provides support in identifying guest issues and reports them to the management team
• Anticipates and maintains appropriate stocking levels of necessary supplies, completes prep and side work, and assists with additional operational tasks as needed for efficient service
• Completes tasks with efficiency and a sense of urgency
• Demonstrates strong teamwork skills
• Knowledgeable of Alamo policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in hospitality/guest services
• Prior food and beverage safety/handling experience

Requirements

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays (minimum 3 days a week, at least one day being a weekend)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move with caution and work collaboratively in a loud, sometimes dark, fast-paced environment
• Ability to bend, duck, crouch, walk up and down stairs, carry multiple plates/trays, and deliver food while limiting disruptions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at one time and repeatedly during entire shift
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to maintain physical stamina and coordination in a fast-paced setting
