Rio Tinto is seeking a Run Plant Engineer in North Carolina to oversee safe, stable daily operations of the production unit. You will collaborate across EHS, commercial, manufacturing, and R&D to drive short-range process improvements.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will support safety initiatives, resolve production issues, and participate in MOC, PSSR, and incident investigations while focusing on reliability and capacity improvements within Hydroxide Line 2.

Competenze

• BS in Chemical Engineering required; strong consideration for Extractive Metallurgy, Minerals Processing or Hydrometallurgy.
• 3–10 years in chemical manufacturing; crystallizer experience and cgmp or equivalent quality systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processing; ability to solve complex chemistry/engineering problems.
• Exposure to production and process functions.
• Proficiency in Project Management & AFE processes; presentation skills and public speaking.

• Support safety efforts through observations, safety improvement projects and audits.
• Resolve day-to-day production issues and process problems.
• Initiate and approve MOC requests and communicate changes.
• Assist in incident investigations; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Analyze Asset Utilization data for reliability and capacity improvements.
• Lead process safety assessment and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate process technology information.
