Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Gas Metering and Communication Systems product development team in a hybrid Dubois, PA location. You will contribute to new product development from concept through launch and provide sustaining engineering support for existing offerings.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years of design experience, with hands-on CAD, testing, and root cause analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering or related product support experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD and PDM/PLM tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, interfaces, and environmental packaging for rugged outdoor electromechanical products.
• Support product development from concept through launch and sustaining engineering.
• Create and maintain drawings, specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Use 3D CAD, tolerance analysis, and FEA to guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, firmware, systems, manufacturing, quality, testing, supply chain, and product management teams.
• Provide sustaining engineering support including troubleshooting and design changes.
