Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Gas Metering and Communication Systems (AMI) Product Development Team. The role covers from concept through production launch and includes sustaining engineering for existing products.

You will design mechanical components and environments, create CAD drawings, and collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to meet cost and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related role.
• Experience with 3D CAD and product data management tools.
• Experience with product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, interfaces, and environmental packaging for rugged outdoor electromechanical products.
• Support product development from concept through launch, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule goals.
• Create and maintain drawings, specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
