Black Diamond Advanced Technology (BDATech) in Chandler, AZ seeks an Electrical Engineer to design rugged electronic systems for military applications, prototype and test hardware through full lifecycle. You will develop schematics, PCB layouts (Altium/Intercept), perform power budgeting and EMI/EMC analyses, and collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure robust integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3 years of electronics design experience (defense, rugged electronics, aerospace preferred).
• Strong proficiency in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools (Altium, Intercept).
• Experience with power electronics, battery systems, DC/DC converters, or embedded hardware is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices, signal integrity, and ruggedization considerations.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD standards and compliance testing procedures.
• Hands-on prototyping, soldering, testing, and lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, and collaborative teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop electronic circuits, power systems, and board-level hardware for ruggedized devices.
• Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting documentation.
• Perform electrical analyses including power budgeting, signal integrity, EMI/EMC evaluation, and thermal considerations.
• Oversee prototype manufacturing, board bring-up, and validation testing.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, tests, validation reports).
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams for system integration.
• Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot power, signal integrity, environmental performance, or manufacturability issues.
• Support MIL-STD, EMI/EMC, environmental qualification, and other standards testing.
• Interface with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal stakeholders to optimize design quality and production efficiency.
