Job summary

Leggett Dynamics is seeking a production operator to monitor rubber processing lines, ensure batches are consistent, and maintain a steady flow from the dump mill to the calender box. You will adjust water valves and nip gap to ensure proper adhesion and keep conveyors clear of excess rubber.

You will retrieve tails from Line 2 calender, assist the calender operator when needed, keep the work area clean, and follow safety devices on the mills.

Responsibilities

• Checks consistency of dropped batches and alerts supervisor of any poorly mixed batches
• Maintains a steady stream of rubber from the dump mill to the calender box
• Adjusts water valves and nip gap on dump and strip mills to ensure proper rubber adhesion to front bowl
• Keeps conveyor belts and belt rollers clear of any excess rubber
• Retrieves tails from Line 2 calender and places them back onto strip mill
• Has a working knowledge of the safety devices on the mills and calender
• Assists the calender operator when needed
• Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to product, process and the system
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
