Qualifications

  • Experience operating calender equipment and reading product specs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate production logs and logs entries.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE in a milling environment.
  • Willingness to follow ISO 9001 and continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate calender to keep rubber sheets wrinkle-free and correctly thick.
  • Record running speeds, gauge, and adjustments on logs.
  • Consult Product Specification Sheet for speeds, backing, and weights.
  • Adjust valves or digital controls to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Prepare backing rolls and perform backing splices as needed.
  • Safely operate hoist to position backing rolls.
  • Adjust sheet width as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety devices on mills and calender.
  • Assist strip feed operator when needed.
  • Keep work area clean and safe from hazards.
  • Identify and report problems related to product, process, and quality system.
