GlobaLogix, a leading company in the Energy and Utility sector, is seeking an RTU Automation Technician for their West Texas-New Mexico operations. Candidates will be responsible for programming, configuring, and troubleshooting RTUs and various electrical systems. Successful applicants will demonstrate significant experience in automation, preferred qualifications in instrumentation, and the capability to work under varying weather conditions.

We are currently seeking an RTUAutomation Technician for our West Texas-New Mexico operations. Local candidates are preferred but we are open to hiring non-local candidates to work on a rotation.
Experience & Skills:
3+ years of automation and I&E experience preferred
Must possess a basic knowledge required to program, configure, and troubleshoot various RTU’s such as Emerson ROC, Emerson FB107, ABB Total flow
Basic knowledge of Modbus communication protocols
Basic knowledge in configuring and troubleshooting radio communications leveraging multiple types of communication protocols
Basic understanding on troubleshooting and calibrating various types of instrumentation
Basic understanding in Instrumentation and Low Voltage Electrical Systems.
Basic understanding in NEC code requirements as it pertains to the Oil & Gas Industry
Basic understanding in troubleshooting various VFD’s, motor starters, motors, and electrical distribution systems
Basic Background and understanding in Upstream and Midstream Oil and Gas Processes.
Experience using the following equipment, is preferred:
Device specific software
Multimeter-Process Meter
Amp Probe
Handheld electrical tools needed to perform his or her job duties
Assist Automation Specialist Tech on the following:
Inspect, calibrate, and repair end devices such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection
Maintain and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment such as valve actuators, positioners, electric motors, VFD’s, motor starters and electrical distribution panels
Maintain and repair control system components such as PLC’s, HMI’s, UPS Systems (Backup Control Power) and RTU’s
Maintain and repair solar charging systems
Maintain and repair communication equipment
Education/Training:
Associate degree in industrial instrumentation /automation is essential but not required
Journeyman Electrician license for Texas and/or New Mexico is essential but not required
Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and be willing to learn.
Must be able to take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations, and field personnel.
Work conditions:
Subject to time pressures and constraints and is also dependent on input from others.
Exposure to and driving in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, sun, rain, hail, sleet, snow, high winds, etc.
