Job summary

The Methodical Group seeks a RTLS Hardware & Network Systems Specialist to lead the setup, configuration, and maintenance of RTLS hardware and network infrastructure across client sites in Greenville, SC. You will ensure reliable data flow from physical tracking systems to cloud platforms using MQTT and HTTP APIs.

Work is hands-on at customer sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance RTLS solutions in demanding industrial environments, with hybrid or onsite

Qualifications

• 6-8 years experience with industrial hardware or systems deployment.
• Knowledge of RF communications (UWB, BLE, RFID, GPS).
• Strong skills in IP networking, LAN/WAN setup, VLANs, and PoE devices.
• Hands-on experience with MQTT brokers (e.g., Mosquitto, HiveMQ) and RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in troubleshooting communication links between edge devices and cloud platforms.
• Able to work at height and use basic tools for hardware installation.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, mount, configure, and maintain tracking hardware (anchors, gateways, readers, antennas).
• Design and support communication infrastructure using wired, wireless, and PoE systems; enable real-time data transmission via MQTT and HTTP APIs.
• Conduct on-site surveys, RF planning, and coverage optimization for UWB, BLE, RFID, GPS tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and client teams during deployments; provide post-installation support and feedback.
• Create and maintain network diagrams, RF coverage maps, setup manuals, and maintenance logs.
