Job summary

Main Street Auto in Knoxville, TN is seeking a General Tire and Lube Technician to join our fast-paced shop. You will perform tire rotations, oil changes, alignments, and safety checks while delivering friendly, reliable service.

We offer industry-leading pay, a comprehensive benefits package, paid vacation, ongoing training, and a supportive team environment. Typical hours are 7:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, with no weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous tire and lube technician experience preferred.
• Proficient in tire installation, oil changes and basic vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire rotations, installations, and repairs with precision and efficiency.
• Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and identify safety concerns.
• Conduct wheel alignments and balance tires for even wear and stability.
• Maintain records of services, parts used, and time spent.
• Assist customers with tire recommendations and inquiries.
• Follow safety protocols in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire rotations, installations, and repairs with precision and efficiency
• Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and identify any potential issues or safety concerns
• Conduct wheel alignments and balance tires to promote even tread wear and vehicle stability
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including parts used and time spent on each task
• Assist customers with tire recommendations, answering inquiries, and providing outstanding customer service
• Adhere to company safety protocols and guidelines while working in a shop environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a tire and lube technician or similar role preferred
• Proficient knowledge of tire installation, repair techniques, and oil change procedures
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to operate shop equipment and tools safely
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
