Qualifications

RS Avionics/Electrical Technician IV in GAC St. Louis

The compensation range for this role is $35.70 - $41.77 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, six years of avionics/electrical experience or equivalent schooling and experience. A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification are preferred.

Position Purpose: Provides leadership and expertise in testing and repairing avionics/electronic aircraft systems to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence, while implementing process improvements.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate expertise in avionics testing and troubleshooting, providing training to support cross-training goals.
  2. Install and test electrical/avionics components per specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.
  3. Ensure quality and efficiency in installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  4. Repair or replace defective components using proper techniques.
  5. Oversee engineering changes and modifications compliance.
  6. Set up and operate test equipment, conducting functional tests.
  7. Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all work.
  8. Pre-inspect work to reduce rework and inspection time.
  9. Maintain test equipment and electronic systems.
  10. Enforce safety and tool control programs, and adapt to schedule changes.
  11. Coordinate with other disciplines on projects.

Additional Functions:

  1. Teach installation and testing of avionics systems.
  2. Perform self-inspections and support aircraft certification and testing, including flight tests if required.

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems is preferred.
  • APU and engine run qualifications are preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Must communicate effectively in English.
