Job description

RS Avionics/Electrical Technician III in GAC St. Louis

Unique Skills:

Aircraft avionics experience required.

All shifts available.

The compensation range for this role is $32.13 - $37.80 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, education, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years of avionics/electrical experience; 2 years of accredited aviation electronics schooling may offset experience. A & P, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.

Position Purpose: Provide technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics and electronic systems on aircraft to ensure defect-free operation, safety, and schedule adherence.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  2. Install and test electrical/avionics components per specifications and manuals.
  3. Ensure quality and efficiency in installations and repairs.
  4. Repair or replace defective components using proper techniques.
  5. Oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
  6. Setup and operate test equipment for performance evaluation.
  7. Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all work performed.
  8. Inspect work of others to ensure quality and reduce rework.
  9. Maintain and test electronic systems and equipment.
  10. Enforce safety, FOD, tool control, and 5-S programs.
  11. Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other teams.

Additional functions include teaching testing procedures, self-inspection, and supporting aircraft certification, including flight tests if required. Other requirements include proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems, ability to interpret blueprints, and strong communication skills in English.
