Qualifications

  • Four years of avionics/electrical experience or two years of accredited aviation electronics schooling plus two years of related experience.

Job description

RS Avionics/Electrical Technician II in GAC St. Louis

Unique Skills:

Aviation experience preferred.

All shifts available.

The compensation range for this role is $28.88 - $35.52 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Four years of avionics/electrical experience or two years of accredited aviation electronics schooling plus two years of related experience. A&P license preferred; FCC and NCATT certifications are also advantageous.

Position Purpose: Provides technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems to meet safety and schedule requirements. May substitute for senior technicians to uphold safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Perform operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  2. Install and test electrical/avionics components according to specifications and manuals.
  3. Ensure quality and efficiency in installations; troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems.
  4. Repair or replace defective components, wiring, and perform modifications as needed.
  5. Operate test equipment and conduct functional tests.
  6. Document all work thoroughly for inspection.
  7. Maintain and test electronic systems and components.
  8. Follow safety protocols, tool control, and FOD programs.
  9. Adapt to schedule changes as required.

Additional Functions: Support aircraft certification and testing, including flight tests if necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements: Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems, ability to interpret blueprints and schematics, excellent communication skills, physical ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and fluency in English.
