Qualifications

RS Avionics/Electrical Technician II in GAC St. Louis

Aviation experience preferred.

The compensation range for this role is $28.88 - $35.52 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, four years in avionics/electrical field or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two years of related experience. A&P license preferred; FCC and NCATT certifications preferred.

Position Purpose: Provides technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems to ensure schedule adherence while maintaining safety and quality. May substitute for senior technicians to uphold safety and quality standards.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates skills in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
  2. Performs installation and testing of electrical/avionics components per specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.
  3. Ensures quality and efficiency, troubleshooting to provide timely repairs.
  4. Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring using acceptable practices.
  5. Implements engineering changes and modifications.
  6. Sets up and operates test equipment, conducting functional and operational tests.
  7. Documents all work for inspection readiness.
  8. Maintains test equipment and electronic systems.
  9. Follows safety, FOD, tool control, and 5-S programs.
  10. Adapts to schedule changes.

Additional Functions: May include flight testing for certification and final phase testing. Other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements: Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, or environmental controls; ability to read blueprints; excellent communication skills; physical ability to climb stairs/ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds; fluent in English.
