Qualifications

RS Avionics/Electrical Technician II in GAC St. Louis

Aviation experience preferred.

All shifts available.

The compensation range for this role is $28.88 - $35.52 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by several factors including qualifications, skills, education, experience, and location.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, four years of avionics/electrical experience or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two years related experience. A&P license is preferred, along with FCC and NCATT certifications.

Position Purpose: Provides technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. May substitute for senior technicians to uphold safety and quality standards while maintaining work schedules.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  2. Install and test electrical/avionics components according to specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.
  3. Ensure quality and efficiency in installations, troubleshooting issues promptly.
  4. Repair or replace defective components, demonstrating proper techniques including splicing and soldering.
  5. Implement engineering changes and modifications as required.
  6. Operate test equipment and conduct functional and operational tests.
  7. Document all work thoroughly for inspection.
  8. Maintain and test electronic systems and components.
  9. Follow safety protocols including FOD, tool control, and 5-S programs.
  10. Adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Additional Functions: Support aircraft certification and testing, including flight tests if required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems such as hydraulics or environmental controls preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs/ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Fluent in English.
