Job summary

The Respiratory Therapist - RRT at Tennova Healthcare- North Knoxville Medical Center delivers pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory care per physician orders. You perform assessments, monitor responses, and support treatment plans to promote effective care, safety, and rehabilitation in collaboration with the care team.

You will document thoroughly, follow policies, and ensure infection control while adapting care to patient needs across all ages and clinical settings.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• RRT certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP/STABLE as applicable.
• Ability to follow safety and infection control standards.
• Proficient with EMR systems for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modalities before procedures.
• Performs and documents ABG punctures accurately and promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Maintains ventilation support and conducts airway maintenance.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety standards.
• Communicates with healthcare teams to ensure timely patient care.
