Job summary

Tennova Healthcare- North Knoxville Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory care following physician orders, assess patients, and implement treatment plans to promote effective respiratory care.

You will document thoroughly, collaborate with care teams, ensure patient safety, manage ventilator settings, and adapt oxygen therapy across all patient populations, while adhering to policy and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• RRT certification required.
• ACLS and PALS required; NRP and STABLE if NICU exposure.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Performs ABG punctures and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety standards.
• Documents all respiratory treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Ensures proper PPE use and infection control.
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance.
• Demonstrates judgment in emergencies and collaborates with teams.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with policies.
