The role involves diagnostic testing, therapy administration, and ventilator management as part of a critical care team.

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates care, performs assessments, and collaborates with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a specialized cardiovascular and spine care environment.

Qualifications

• NBRC-RRT certification is required.
• RRT/RC-state licensure required.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment including breath sounds and airway patency.
• Administer respiratory care therapies and assign oxygen delivery.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways and manage ventilation.
• Monitor patient response and notify providers of issues.
• Transport ventilator-dependent patients when needed.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure airway integrity during resuscitation.
