Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a temporary full-time assignment across multiple units. The RRT will perform standard and advanced respiratory care procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders and assist physicians with invasive techniques as directed.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, be a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and possess BLS certification. Active state licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• BLS certification required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist certification required.
• TN licensure preferred (state where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine respiratory therapy procedures including IPPB, O2 therapy, and humidity/aerosol therapy.
• Establishes ventilation and airway care; provides ventilatory support including invasive therapies.
• Performs patient assessment and communicates results to the care team.
• Provides education to patient and family and acts as a technical resource.
• Ensures safety and proper maintenance of respiratory care equipment.
• Participates in departmental/hospital continuous improvement initiatives.
