Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a temporary full-time assignment across units. You will perform standard and advanced respiratory care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders and support education and clinical guidance to colleagues.

The ideal candidate holds an Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy, is BLS certified, and has RRT credentials or eligible.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Preferred technical degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy.
• BLS certification required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine respiratory therapy procedures including IPPB, O2 therapy, and humidity/aerosol therapy in an assigned area on patients.
• Establishes and maintains ventilation and airway care for assigned patients and provides ventilatory support to patients receiving CPR.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment through observation, data gathering, response to therapy and reporting findings.
• Provides educational development through guidance and teaching and serves as a technical resource for staff and families.
• Recognizes safety factors and performs preventative and routine maintenance on respiratory care equipment; participates in improvement opportunities.
