Job summary

ConnectedHealth in Akron, OH is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes clinical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has an accredited respiratory therapy program and an active Ohio license, NBRC certification, and BLS/ACLS/NRP; 1-3 years of hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Active Ohio Respiratory Therapist license.
• NBRC certification and basic life support certifications required.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification (may be obtained within the first year).

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions as ordered by physicians or approved practitioners
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
• Respond to emergency situations and actively participate in emergency drills
• Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment safely and effectively
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Support and involve primary support persons or family members in patient care when appropriate
• Ensure all respiratory care services are delivered in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
• Demonstrate professionalism, clinical competency, and commitment to organizational values
