Job summary

Research Medical Center seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to guide patients through routine and critical care, using advanced respiratory technology and experienced mentorship. You will work within a collaborative team, ensuring patient safety, and supporting ongoing professional growth.

New graduates are welcome; roles include ventilation management, diagnostic procedures, and newborn stabilization when required.

Qualifications

  • ACLS required within 6 months of start date.
  • BLS certification required.
  • NBRC-RRT credential required.
  • RRT/RCP-State licensure required.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess respiratory status through exams, breath sounds, and airway patency to determine interventions.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy including O2, aerosols, and airway clearance in various settings.
  • Manage ventilation and airway support, including invasive and noninvasive modes.
  • Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and nurses; assist with newborn stabilization as needed.
  • Maintain and sterilize equipment; ensure readiness and infection prevention standards.

Your role will include:

  • Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
  • Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
  • Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
  • Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
  • Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • NBRC-RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
  • (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
