Research Medical Center in Missouri is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a seasonal PRN role during the winter period. You will provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care, manage ventilation, and work across emergency, critical care, and acute settings with a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • NBRC-RRT: Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree.
  • RRT/RCP-State: Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
  • No Travel Required.
  • One year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assess respiratory status by focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and determining the need for respiratory interventions.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy by providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
  • Manage ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placement, initiating and adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and responding to emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families, serve as a clinical resource, partner with physicians and nurses, and assist in stabilizing newborns during deliveries when needed.
  • Maintain equipment and safety by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following infection-prevention standards.

Explore HCA's opportunities as a Respiratory Therapist Seasonal PRN! We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists to join our team for the upcoming winter season at an increased seasonal pay rate and completion bonus!

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll play an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments. You’ll perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings. Seasonal Position Requirements and Incentives:
  • Seasonal position for 11/8/26 -- 2/27/27
  • Completion bonus to be paid to eligible employees after the successful completion of 16 consecutive weeks of employment while meeting all shift requirements during that period.
  • All Seasonal RNs/PCTs/ RRTs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period (0.9 FTEs) during the seasonal period.
  • Two (2) weekend shifts are required for each 4-week period if applicable.
  • During the 16-week period, the employee is required to work one holiday shift as defined by Department Manager or designee.
  • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital. However, if employees are called off by the facility, then they will still be eligible for the completion bonus.
  • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401 (k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
  • Staff members classified in the Seasonal Program are eligible for Critical Staffing Need Differential payments, when approved for their department and after they have completed three scheduled shifts in a week (i.e. 4th shift is paid Critical Staffing Differential).
  • Shifts may vary based on needs of the department.
  • After the completion period has been met, employees are eligible to apply to open FT/PT/PRN vacancies.
  • Current PRN employees with 0.001 or .3 FTE commitment can be considered for this program.
  • Based on business needs, the seasonal program can be ended at any time.
  • This program cannot be combined with Seasonal Incentive Program.
Your role will include:

What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
  • (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
