Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sleep Disorders Technician (PRN) to support the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital sleep center. The role involves performing sleep studies, ensuring patient safety, and educating patients and families about procedures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with health-field education preferred and 2 years' healthcare experience. AASM A-Step completion is preferred and CPR/BCLS certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; health-field degree preferred.
• Two years' experience in a sleep center or healthcare setting preferred.
• Completion of an AASM A-Step program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality sleep disorders procedures and related tasks per policy.
• Ensure patient safety during sedation/restraints and verify patient identity.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding of procedures.
• Document data accurately and use hospital resources appropriately.
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, nurses and staff.
• Participate in educational activities to enhance patient care and quality.
