Job summary

Mercy Sleep Lab is seeking a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to perform sleep studies, scoring, and patient education under physician direction.

This PRN role requires the RPSGT credential and BLS, with responsibilities including equipment setup, monitoring, data collection, and reporting per AASM guidelines; you will document in the EMR and participate in quality improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
• American Heart Association BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, calibrate, and maintain sleep study equipment.
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to AASM standards.
• Conduct overnight polysomnographic studies, including CPAP/BiPAP titration, split-night studies, and MSLT.
• Continuously monitor patients and respond to sleep-related events and emergencies.
• Score sleep studies and create detailed reports following AASM guidelines.
• Educate patients on sleep disorders, PAP therapy, and equipment use.
• Document procedures and results in the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities.
