Job summary
Amtex Systems Inc in Cincinnati, OH seeks an experienced RPG developer to design, develop, and maintain RPG applications supporting core operations. You will work with legacy RPG (RPG III/IV) and modern RPG (ILE/FreeForm), maintain ASNA visual RPG, and analyze requirements to translate them into effective technical solutions.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, system modernization initiatives, performance tuning, and producing solid documentation while collaborating with analysts,
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience developing applications using RPG on IBM.
- Strong experience with RPG IV / ILE RPG, CL, and DB2.
- Experience with SQL and web services.
- Experience supporting accounting systems AR, AP, GL, etc.
- Proven experience working with legacy systems and modernizing existing codebases.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain RPG applications supporting core business operations.
- Work with legacy RPG (RPG III/IV) as well as modern RPG (ILE / FreeForm RPG) codebases.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in system modernization initiatives, integrations, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and business users onsite.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards.
- Support production systems and participate in on-call or scheduled support as needed.
