Job summary

ISMIRA Agency seeks a Learning & Development Consultant to oversee shipboard training, records, and crew welfare aboard Royal Caribbean Cruises. The role centers on delivering key training programs, coaching leaders, and maintaining precise training data in MXP.

Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years on onboard training or L&D roles, strong presentation skills, and the ability to thrive in a multicultural frontier.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as an onboard trainer, L&D coordinator or similar.
• Strong presentation and facilitation in multicultural environments, preferably on board a vessel.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire crew and leadership teams.
• Solid admin skills; proficient in Word/PowerPoint; able to work independently and with ship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all onboard learning and e-learning programs, including planning, evaluation and administration.
• Deliver training courses (e.g., Guest Service, Onboarding, Leadership).
• Coach Department Heads, Supervisors and crew for career growth and succession planning.
• Maintain training records in MXP with accurate data entry and reporting.
• Support sign-on process during high crew turnover.
• Schedule monthly training calendar in coordination with training, HR and operations.

Learning & Development Consultant is responsible for all shipboard training processes, training record keeping and the crew welfare program. They foster a culture of continuous learning and teamwork, enhancing crew engagement and job satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage all learning and e-learning programs on board the vessel, including planning, evaluation, and administration.
• Deliver training courses including but not limited to the Viking Guest Service Excellence Program, Viking Onboarding Program and Viking Leadership Program.
• Drive leadership development by providing coaching to the Department Heads, Supervisors and Crew Members to support their career growth and to cultivate talent and prepare for succession planning.
• Maintain and update training records in MXP, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
• Support the Crew Purser with the sign-on process during periods of high crew turnover.
• Schedule the monthly training calendar, in coordination with other training, HR and operational needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Onboard Trainer, L&D Coordinator or similar position
• Strong presentation, communication and facilitation abilities, with experience delivering training in a multicultural environment, ideally on board a vessel.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide crew members and the Leadership Team.
• Solid administrative skills are preferred, and proficiency in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems (Word, Power Point) is required. Must be flexible, stress-resistant, and a committed team player.
• Ability to work independently when delivering training and collaboratively when developing schedules and identifying needs with ship management.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads and shipboard
• Employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment, including telephones, computers and copy machines.
• Fluent ENGLISH skills - both spoken and written
