Job summary

Duke University is seeking an Assistant Athletics Trainer to manage the care of Duke student-athletes, with a primary focus on rowing. Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
  • BOC certification and current good standing.
  • Eligible for NC athletic trainer licensure or licensed in NC before employment.
  • Minimum of three years' experience training NCAA student-athletes.
  • Rowing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses.
  • Coordinate medical care for assigned student-athletes with team physicians and the sports medicine team.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, student-athletes, parents/guardians, and other care team members.
  • Educate and counsel student-athletes on injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in line with standards.
  • Attend events and practices as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine.
