Job summary

County of Volusia in DeLand, FL seeks an experienced Right of Way Specialist II in the Engineering & Construction division to handle acquisition and disposition of real property for roads, utilities, and trails. The role combines professional office work with field activities and requires coordinating with the design group and public agencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate or related field with two years of right-of-way experience.
Comparable education or experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.
Valid driver’s license required; Florida license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform complex research tasks to support acquisition, lease and sale of real property, including title reviews and instrument preparation.
Establish and maintain all pertinent records and files for right-of-way projects.
Assist County Attorney’s Office in condemnation proceedings and closings.
Provide right-of-way information to the public and other agencies; coordinate with design group.
Negotiate contracts with right-of-way consultants and manage roadway acquisition projects.
