Job summary

Mark-Taylor, Inc. is seeking a Roving Service Technician to support valley-wide communities in the Phoenix area. You will perform maintenance repairs, assist onsite teams, and ensure five-star service to residents.

This full-time role requires 2+ years in property maintenance, EPA certification, and ability to travel daily. We offer benefits, a structured on-call incentive, and a generous vehicle allowance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in maintenance within the Property Management industry.
• Strong communication and resident relations skills; customer service focus.
• Ability to travel daily to different communities; on-site collaboration.
• EPA certification required; CPO/OSHA certifications preferred.
• Basic written and spoken English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various Mark-Taylor communities to assist as needed.
• Assist onsite teams with daily maintenance tasks including work orders and groundskeeping.
• Make-ready duties and ensure units meet Mark-Taylor standards; manage supplies.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance issues.
• Perform daily pool care and maintain chemical balance; ensure safety.
• Inspect property for hazards and inform Facilities Manager of any risks.
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Compensation

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $25.00/hr.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Eligible for $300.00 monthly vehicle allowance.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• 2 or more years' experience working as a maintenance technician, apartment turn technician, make ready technician, or work order technician in the Property Management industry is required.
• Strong communication and resident relations skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with varying onsite teams while taking direction and following established priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments with timeliness.
• Ability to adapt to varying property conditions and maintenance needs while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Willingness to travel daily to different community locations throughout the valley ($300 vehicle allowance provided).
• Above average knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• EPA certification required.
• CPO, OSHA 10, and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.
• Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance or property management software preferred.

In This Role You Will

• Travel to various communities in the Mark-Taylor Portfolio, providing assistance as needed.
• Provide assistance to onsite teams in the daily maintenance tasks including work orders, groundskeeping, and make-ready duties.
• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
