City of Norwalk invites applications for a Part-time Roving Park Ambassador. You will roam Norwalk’s parks, greeting visitors, sharing information about amenities, events, and park guidelines, and serving as a friendly, visible representative of the Department of Recreation & Parks.
The role emphasizes customer service, safety awareness, and collaboration with staff and volunteers. A high school diploma is required, with two years’ experience preferred in parks or community programs.
The Roving Park Ambassador plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for visitors to Norwalk’s parks, trails, and recreational spaces. Ambassadors serve as visible representatives of the Department of Recreation & Parks, engaging with the public, promoting responsible park use, and supporting various park programs and community events. This position requires strong customer service skills, a passion for the outdoors, and the ability to work independently while roving between park locations.
Receives general supervision from the designated Supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in parks, recreation, customer service, or a related field.
Experience with outdoor environments, sporting events, or facilities like country clubs is a plus.
Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout park areas for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, such as equipment or park supplies.
