Job summary

Westport Properties is seeking a hands-on Roving HVAC Maintenance Technician to support our apartment communities. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, doors, and more across multiple properties, ensuring safe, comfortable homes.

You’ll work with property managers and maintenance supervisors, perform seasonal tune-ups, respond to emergencies, and keep detailed logs. EPA Universal or Type II certification is required, along with 2+ years of HVAC experience

Qualifications

• EPA Universal or Type II certification required.
• 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varied environments (indoors, outdoors, tight spaces).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC issues including furnaces, A/C units, heat pumps, and thermostats.
• Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal system checks.
• Install new HVAC systems and replace outdated equipment.
• Monitor climate control systems and respond to comfort concerns.
• Maintain refrigerant logs and comply with EPA regulations.
• Travel between properties to handle maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, doors, flooring, landscaping, and more.
• Keep maintenance logs and document parts used.
• Respond to emergency calls and ensure safety and code compliance.

Job Summary

As our Roving HVAC Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents enjoy safe, comfortable living environments year-round. You'll partner with property managers and maintenance supervisors to tackle everything from seasonal tune-ups to emergency repairs—keeping our communities running at their best.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair HVAC issues, including furnaces, A/C units, heat pumps, and thermostats
• Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal systems checks
• Install new HVAC systems and replacing outdated equipment
• Monitor building climate control systems and respond to comfort complaints
• Maintain refrigerant logs and comply with EPA regulations
• Travel to different properties to handle maintenance and repairs
• Tackle jobs like plumbing, electrical, doors, flooring, landscaping, and more
• Help prep units for new residents and handle regular upkeep for existing ones
• Stay on-call occasionally
• Keep maintenance logs and support snow removal during the winter months
• Work with Property Managers and Maintenance Supervisor to schedule and prioritize service requests
• Keep detailed records of work completed and parts used
• Respond to emergency calls and ensure all work is safe, efficient, and code-compliant

What You'll Get

• Pay: $24 - $32/hour based on experience
• Monthly bonuses based on occupancy: Up to ~$450 (normally around $200-$300)
• Tool reimbursement: $10 per paycheck ($260/year)

What We're Looking For

• EPA Universal or Type II certification required
• 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience required
• Solid understanding of HVAC mechanics and electrical basics
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in a variety of environments - indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, and all weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• A strong work ethic and ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
