Job summary

Aerotek seeks a Roaving Building Engineer to maintain safe, efficient building operations in Germantown, MD. You will respond to tenant work orders, perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, and support water treatment and safety procedures across facilities.

In this role, you will also mentor junior staff, complete repairs on boilers, air handlers, pumps, and cooling equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with HVAC systems and maintenance of boilers, air handlers, pumps, fans, and related controls.
• Familiarity with plumbing systems and facility maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and basic water treatment testing.
• Comfort using computers and mobile devices to manage emails, texts, and work orders.
• Ability to work in a team, mentor others, and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to tenant work orders and complete tasks professionally.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment across multiple facilities.
• Conduct water treatment testing and adjust chemical levels as needed.
• Check and exercise fire pumps and emergency generators weekly.
• Paint mechanical rooms and perform minor carpentry as required.
• Carry out independent tasks while supporting a team in building operations.
• Provide guidance to less experienced colleagues and promote safe practices.
