Job summary

Colliers International in Wisconsin is seeking a Roving Building Engineer to service and maintain our client properties. You will handle preventative and necessary maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring reliability and safety for our clients and their buildings.

You will respond to requests, prioritize work orders, coordinate with contractors and property management, and maintain logs.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of building or property maintenance or engineering experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management systems.
• Willingness to be on-call for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; good communications.

• Maintain daily operating logs for HVAC, fans, meters, and complaints.
• Ensure building systems and tenant requests are handled cost-effectively.
• Coordinate approvals with contractors, tenants and management for work orders.

About you

As the Roving Building Engineer, you are a technical and engineering expert, familiar with maintenance systems and equipment. You bring strong organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, and a positive outlook to everything you do. You'll be responsible for preventative maintenance, necessary maintenance, and most repairs to the buildings mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring the systems are running efficiently – and to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties. You will respond to client requests, prioritize, complete work orders, and follow up to ensure minimal downtime and communication.

In this role, you will:

• Maintain and check daily operating logs for the following: air conditioning, fan units, graph charts, utility meters and general complaints.
• Ensure that building systems and tenant service requests are handled efficiently at the most economical cost.
• Successfully coordinate contractor, tenant, and management approvals for work orders.
• Demonstrate a clear understating of operating procedures and proper chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.

What you’ll bring

• At least 3 years' experience in building/property maintenance or engineer experience
• Solid working knowledge of HVAC systems/maintenance, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems and other building mechanical equipment.
• Flexibility to be on-call to respond to after-hours / weekend emergency requests.
• A valid driver's license
• Clear motor vehicle record (MVR)
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
