Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in the Southeast region is seeking a Routing & Siting Project Manager to lead electric transmission line routing studies, environmental surveys, and NEPA analyses. You will manage projects, develop proposals, and mentor junior staff while supporting client relationships and regulatory filings.

The role requires 7+ years in routing/siting and environmental permitting, with strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Environmental Science or Studies, Land Use planning/Urban Planning, Natural and/or Cultural Resource Management or related field from an accredited program.
Minimum 7 years related professional experience leading technical teams, project management, business development, and balancing utilization rates.
Minimum 7 years of routing or siting studies, environmental permitting, NEPA documents, CPCN or Energy Facility Siting and Licensing testimony support preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage routing studies and evaluations for regulatory state applications.
Prepare environmental studies/evaluations and NEPA documentation for projects serving multiple markets.
Coordinate pre-application meetings with jurisdictions and prepare land use permits.
Lead and mentor project teams, develop proposals and cost estimates.
Develop client relationships and support regulatory applications for high-voltage transmission and related projects.
