Job summary

DiCarlo Distributors Inc. is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher in Holtsville, NY, to coordinate with drivers, monitor deliveries, and respond to customer inquiries.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and computer skills, with experience in dispatch software like Descartes being a plus. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM, with pay starting at $18–$20 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Prior dispatch, transportation, logistics or operations experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with computers and learning routing software.
• Experience with Descartes or similar dispatch software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with drivers throughout the day, providing delivery instructions, customer information, and operational support.
• Monitor and update routing system to keep deliveries on schedule and driver data current.
• Answer incoming calls regarding delivery status, routing, and customer concerns.
• Provide timely updates to management, sales, and inside sales on delays, issues, and route changes.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation.
• Coordinate with drivers and internal departments to resolve delivery issues quickly and professionally.
• Support daily transportation operations to ensure exceptional customer service.
