Job summary

Performance Foodservice, a major distributor, is seeking a detail-oriented Router to join the Transportation team in Augusta, Maine. You will create and optimize daily delivery routes, analyze efficiency metrics, and maintain accurate route data to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective deliveries.

The role requires 1–3 years in logistics, strong Excel/Word/Outlook skills, and meticulous organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, routing, or a related field.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• This is an in-office position in Augusta, Maine.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize daily delivery routes for drivers and customers.
• Analyze route efficiency, delivery times, mileage, and service requirements.
• Utilize routing software and transportation systems to build and maintain route plans.
• Ensure routes comply with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Maintain accurate customer delivery information, time windows, service requirements, and route data.
• Generate route reports, manifests, maps, and driver instructions.
• Review prior-day routing performance and make adjustments to improve efficiency.
• Partner with Transportation, Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, and Drivers to resolve routing and service challenges.
• Support key performance metrics related to cost, service, productivity, and safety.
