Job summary

The City of Fayetteville, Arkansas seeks a reliable truck/utility driver to support trash and recycling collection. You will inspect and operate department trucks, load and separate recyclables, and perform basic field maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or one year of related experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain Class B CDL within 90 days of hire.
• Able to learn basic computer skills for on-line time clocks and GPS tech.
• Effective verbal and written communication is required.
• Experience with heavy equipment and trucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post trip inspections daily.
• Operate department trucks to assist in trash and recycling collection on assigned routes.
• Collect and separate recyclable items.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and perform minor repairs/diagnostics in the field.
• Work a 10 hour day on average.
• Perform radio communications as needed.
• Ensure trucks are fueled daily and records are kept.
• Adhere to safety procedures and operate with caution.
