Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is a family owned company hiring a Route Driver to represent the company during deliveries and pickups. You will drive a route, load and inspect freight, and ensure on-time service.

Applicants must be at least 21, hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and pass a DOT physical. Starting wage ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, with overtime opportunities and weekend OT as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Perform other related duties as assigned
