Job summary

St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, Arizona seeks a Route Driver (Class B) to pick up and deliver donated food on a regular route, serving as a customer service representative with donors. Two positions exist with a 5am start, Monday through Friday, and a starting pay of $23 per hour.

You will maintain vehicles, assist loading/unloading, operate pallet jacks, and ensure food safety and accurate donation receipts. CDL Class B and FMCSA coursework are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• One year experience driving a commercial vehicle.
• CDL (Class B) license and valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with good reading of highway signs and reports.

Responsibilities

• Pickup and deliver donated food on a scheduled route.
• Maintain assigned vehicles per fueling, DOT, and cleanliness standards.
• Load/unload under warehouse direction; operate pallet jacks as needed.
• Record daily Route Driver duties and vehicle inspections per DOT requirements.
• Ensure food handling safety and proper labeling of pallets/boxes.
• Maintain donor relations and complete daily reports and receipts.
• Drive a Class B truck for pickups/deliveries and cover local store routes when needed.
