Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund is seeking a Safety Monitor (Ellington) in New York, NY for a full-time role. The position oversees the facility’s security, controls access, and reports hazards to the Safety Supervisor. The candidate will ensure patrols and logbook accuracy.

The job requires NYS Security Guard and Fire Guard licenses, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to rotate shifts. A background check is mandatory, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in commercial and/or residential security services.
• Active New York State Security Guard License.
• Good communication/writing skills, experience working with families / homeless population.
• Must meet all requirements regarding the Security Guard Act of 1992.
• Must obtain a Fire Guard (F02) License.
• Must successfully complete a background investigation.
• Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that the Safety Supervisors orders of the shift are followed.
• Performs and ensures that all Detex patrols are completed and conducts the patrols on a half hour basis.
• Communicates all pertinent information to the Safety Supervisor.
• Ensures that all entries are made and accurate in the security desk logbook.
• Obtain client signatures to complete Daily Attendance Roster.
• Maintains a safe and secure environment for the residents, staff, and visitors.
• Must be certified in First Aid and CPR.
• Must be able to rotate shifts at the Director of Operations discretion and/or as needs of the business requires.
• Utilizing the DHS CARES system complete incident reports as needed.
• Adhere to the Agency dress code for Safety personnel and maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
• Drive the facility van when required.
• Must maintain valid NYS Security License.
• Must be available for overtime when business needs are required.
