Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking a forklift operator in Martinsburg, WV to support precast concrete production and material handling. The role involves transporting, loading, unloading, and staging products while following safety policies and assisting production teams.

Requires forklift certification and experience with rough terrain/large-capacity forklifts. You will work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, with opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate rough terrain forklifts and other heavy material handling equipment to support precast concrete production operations.
  • Transport, load, unload, and stage concrete products, forms, materials, and supplies throughout the facility and yard.
  • Follow all safety policies, operating procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain safe traffic flow and material storage practices in production and yard areas.
  • Assist production crews with material handling and general labor activities as needed.
  • Support daily production schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.

What You'll Need
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Experience operating rough terrain forklifts or large-capacity industrial forklifts in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to safely move oversized, heavy, or irregularly shaped materials and products.
  • Knowledge of forklift safety, load securement, and material handling best practices.
  • Ability to inspect equipment and identify potential safety or maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around heavy equipment, noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
