Summary
Responsible for operating machines and equipment related to the machining process of aluminum wheels. Machining operators may perform one or more of the functions listed below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow safety rules 100% of the time.
- Contribute to a safe work environment by following housekeeping guidelines.
- Maintain good attendance.
- Follow instructions and work to meet daily job assignments and KPIs.
- Complete all required paperwork neatly and in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned or designated.
Fine Machine
- Transfer blanks from blank storage to fine machine cells.
- Load, mark, and unload wheels.
- Visually inspect wheels.
Gauging
- Use calibrated go/no-go gauge to check dimensions on a wheel.
- Decide whether wheel is in/out of tolerance.
- Visually inspect wheels.
- Rework any non-conforming wheels.
- Load wheels back onto conveyor.
Sorting
- Move wheels to specific machines to ensure proper workflow.
Surface Machining
- Check results of automatic surfacing process.
- Operate FEMCO machines.
- Remove wheels from machines.
- Visually inspect wheels.
Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand written documents.

Physical Work Conditions
- Ability to work in a hot environment.
- Ability to lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight.
- Lift 50–65 pounds.
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day.
- Wear personal protective equipment when required.
