Job summary

Anderson International Corp is seeking a skilled grinder to set up and operate a variety of hand grinders and machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.

You will remove excess material to meet engineering drawings and customer specifications, safely operate grinding equipment, and maintain productivity, quality, and housekeeping in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Must work in a warm environment with dust.
• Must meet physical demands and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to cross-train on other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, clean, or polish metallic parts to prepare finished surfaces or to correct defects, using hand grinders and power tools.
• Use large high RPM grinding wheels and belt sanders to prep large castings and hard-faced products.
• Mark defects such as porosity, cracks, and other defects for repair.
• Measure dimensions and verify conformance to drawings and specs.
• Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment using overhead cranes.
• Maintain a clean work area and comply with safety standards.
• Record production data and process steps on forms.
• Cross-train on other machines as requested by management.
